Those letters came out really good considering the material. before you go through the painstaking process of making a negative mold, could you try something more dense then wood? say like polyurethane? if you have an old body mount or suspension bushing I would try that first using more pressure like in a shop press. you might be surprised how it comes out.

Got most of the tailgate done. Just need the bottom pivot section and then figure out the latch hardware. Yup, I'm trying to make it latch like the 1:1. I think I need smaller fingers and a big magnifying glass to pull this off.

Also got the ribbing and bending done on the half cab bulkhead. Now I need to get some body spacers done so I can get all the body parts aligned and joined together.

Thanks MM. The letters were cut out of 14 gauge steel but I kind of rushed them. I should have done them from aluminum as it is so much easier to shape. They also didn't need to be so thick. I'll get it all figured out when I go into mass production

Made some headway on the body today. Finally joined the front clip, main body and rear bed sections together.

Bulkhead installed

Windshield drip edges attached to windshield and Windshield attached to body.

Tailgate hinge installed and hinge for windshield

Under side just for fun!

I thought the same thing when i took these shots. I may need to plant some more rust seeds in the inner fender wells just like it came from the factory.

I just came across your build and I must say this is amazing! Your fabrication skills are over the top. I especially love the chassis. It makes me want to scrap my build and throw it under a rock. wow!!!!!

Thanks. Don't throw it under a rock, just add paint cans to it

Coming from you, that is quite a compliment Thankyou.

Any thoughts on the front grill? I can't imagine getting the kind of detail i need with using my current method. I may need to switch to the same aluminum you use on your incredible builds.

This is some serious as a heart attack, scratch built, fine scale modeling. Do you happen to work in the movie industry as a model maker. The only people I know that put so much detail into work like this get paid for it. If not, all you have to do is whip out this thread and it will speak much louder than any resume if you do decide to make this a career.
