Sweet spider , good design, paint looks good and smooth. I like that hood ,that came out nice ... whats that chassis hiding in the back ground ?
sorry about the rain , at least you dont have to shovel it. my basement gets wet when it rains really hard here , I feel for you . I need to re do my front yard, more dirt and regrade it to get the water away from the house , the ground here is sandy so the water runs right though it.

Hey Post,

They hood is SWEEEET! Paint looks nice and smooth. I like that yellow and red combo. The spider is the icing on the lemon cake(my wife made that flavor last night). I also like the red "triangle" section on each side with the California trail logo. Great Job!

Are you in a safe area with regards to the rain? i woke up this morning to news about California getting hit with an alarming amount of rain, I hope all is well and it doesn't get worse than a flooded garage.

Keep me posted.

Thanks guys...I think this will be the color scheme for life....red, black and yellow were my go fast colors when I raced on-road...The Red Spider lives

Ha, ha...Chris you are too observant...I had to go back and look at the pictures again to see what chassis you referred to. That is my first attempt at a tube chassis...it's ok, but not square in the rear, would look pretty funny if I assembled it. I've learned a lot about tubers since then and my jigging before I braze is much better now...patience is key. The old adage "measure twice, cut once" ...well, "Jig three times, braze once" works for me now.

The rain has stopped since about noon yesterday. My bucket in the back had about 3.5" in it for a 2 day total...not much by other areas standards. I'm sure the hills around here got more than that...they usually average 3-4 times what we get. Suppose to rain some more this week...mud slides are now a concern.
I don't live in a flood zone, but my concrete walkway/dog run right outside the garage door has a low spot right at the door and puddles so it seeps under the door and floods the garage. It was a wet and cold surprise in my stocking feet in the dark yesterday morning my dog seemed to like it ok...but not the bath later on

I saw a thread last night with some killer, easy shock mounts for a tube chassis. I will try this method soon, I have several TLT shock mounts to "Jig three times "

Post , sorry bad habit , but some of the funniest things can be found in the back ground of pictures , or the old film pics that you didnt know what you had till they got developed like the one below , while driving in North Carolina my wife was snapping pics out the window and came up with this after getting them developed.

pot-o-gold?

We laughed like hell when we say this one

sorry Chris...didn't see this before

I am running a Vanquish wheel...can't remember the name of them off the top of my head...don't think they make tham any more either. Proline swampers for tires 2.2"

I'll go look up the Vanquish wheels when I get the chance....

those would be the SLW V2 wheels...when I ordered them I made the mistake of not checking the width...I ended up with .7 wides, they wouldn't take them back so I used them anyway, but they were a real pain to mount...I wanted 1" They still make them

So, haven't been doing anything with this rig lately...but still in the stable.
Plan on taking this to the East Coast and crawl with some fellow "Cluse" runners...look forward to that.

I've had several queries lately about link lengths...so much so, that I thought I'd post them up.

Front Lower: 3.85" - 97.79 mm
Front Upper: 4.25" - 107.95mm

Rear Lower: 4.5" - 114.3mm
Rear Upper: 5" - 127mm

Hope this helps all you Wreckluse builders out there, there seems to be some heightened interest lately

Need to get this rig more involved and warmed up for the East Coast GTG.
When you go crawling, do you have a hard time deciding which rig to pull off the shelf ???
