looks to me like you have room to move the upper links to the outside like the bottom ones are. got a question for you though...from your shaft angle it looks like you are clocked forward a bit...is that true ? |

take one of the front tires off and look at the Chub and knuckle. The Chub should sit perpendicular to the table...or straight up and down. To get better steering you "clock" the Chub so it leans back. If the Chub is leaning forward that will be bad for your steering. From the picture, it looked like the drive shaft was pointing up toward the tranny...and if you didn't correct the Chub it would be clocked forward.

if you shorten the upper link ever so slightly it will straighten that out...maybe even putting the link on the outside will accomplish the same thing. Pulls the top of the axle back toward the cab and straightens out the chub.

actually, the picture shows the rear axle :P so I dont really have any steering problems there! but I might put a rear steering as well...most TTC have rear steer...i'm waiting for my M3 Tap to make my custom links, so I can make them the length I want! i'll try to make the axles as straight as possible, might help the drive shaft clearing the upper links

I should have known that was the rear..And that clocking doesn't matter there of course until you put some rear steer on it. Have you moved the links to the outside yet ??? That should cure some of your binding

June would be so cool...but i think it would be safer after June. It seems like everytime we tried to establish a date, the weather was killing us with rain. Pale and i finally got together on labor day weekend. I wish it were for the whole weekend but being my wife's birthday i had to get her back home. Pale and myself had most of saturday and then sunday morning. Although it was a short time...it was still a great time in my book and we finally got to meet, crawl, eat and hang. Im afraid to ask about being your "...own man". How is the new job treating you?

I was hoping that maybe you had some pics of your GTG floating around that you could post up. Would be good to see your rigs.... The job is good...busy, but they treat me well...it's all you can ask for. Nothing much to say regarding being "my own man"....just an expression. I crawl when I can.... |

Im glad the job is treating you good. with regards to the "my own man" comment, i thought maybe it there was more to it along the lines of "i left the wife and I'm my own man". I was afraid to ask further. Whew!!! Im still getting caught up with building DS's...everytime i think i got it out of my system...i fall into another one. remember the limit i had on RC rigs? that went out the window...im at about 20 car/trucks. The funny part? most of the kits are repeats with slight build differences. RC10GT (5) RC10 NDS(5) RC10DS (3) NTC3(3) SCX10(2) wreckluse (1) I NEED HELP!!!!! RC-ANONYMOUS!!!!

Been a while This poor rig has sat on the bench like a good queen, has about 4 packs in it's lifetime. Just doesn't get to play much anymore. Tried to sell it...nobody wanted it. Well, maybe I messed up my for sale post and mentioned I'd trade for something also....anyway I tore it down to the chassis. Going to mod the chassis a bit, go thru the drive gear again ( learned a lot in the past couple of years since this build)...beef this thing up and build a heavy metal basher rig.... Stay tuned |
