So, been awhile since I've even run this rig...hadn't noticed that I never ran it since making the metal hood....the magnets don't hold it shut, got to figure out something else....BUT

The grandson wanted to play with it, and he was controlling his own rig well enough ...it was priceless

He actually did pretty well, I'd let him do it again....

HAHAHAHA Them pics are very cool....I know he will remember that wreckluse for a long time.

HEy Greg, what type of magnets are you using?

I haven't tested mine yet but mine seem like they will hold up well.

The weight of the hood may be a factor.

June is coming...June is coming...gonna add some nitro to the get together mix....oh and maybe a pizza, lol

hope all is well

Hey Alex....wish I was there in June....
I'm using the Radio Shack little round ones...about the size of a dime. They stay together pretty good unless you roll over, then it flops out...man that sounded funny...
I have to figure out something else I think...or stop rolling the rig

the grandson has called me twice now, wanting to drive my jeep as he calls it...he's a good kid

hey man you'll be there in spirit...

Are they the ceramic magnets?...if so i dont think those will be strong enough...you need the "rare earth" magnets. they have special powers that will prevent flop-outs; on the flip side they are very small....smaller than a dime....in fact there is no currency to compare them to. yes im delirious....just came shopping with the wife...oh how the currency flowed....oh the horror....the horror....anyway back to these magical little magnets...

small

I will try a few rollovers in june...gonna keep wreckluse in pristine condition till then....at that point its no holds barred....hopefully Willie will keep his head on, lol

Wow those are small and yes, the ones I have are the ceramic covered ones.
I'll have to look for the rare earth ones. Are they a Radio Shack item or somewhere else ?

Radio shack carries them, they are 3/16" so i advise you to keep them in package till you are ready to use. I had four of them and lost them for months till i found them stuck on a screw driver. Those little bastards dissappear to the other dimension in the blink of an eye.

I tell ya Greg...that other dimension has got to be getting packed with the amount of stuff that disappears from me here in this dimension. Bizarro Alex has got to be making some crazy project...

try these...i attached with shoo goo...(not cat poo)

hmm i'm rebuilding my wreckluse right now...didnt liked the first try and I finally got wraith axles...but it seems like the upper links bind with the drive shaft...got that problem too? my upper links are installed inside the frame...to clear, I might move then to the outside of the frame...might work?

I had all kind of issues with the front links. Mine are inside the chassis though. Post up some pics in here builder....let's take a look at the issue. Are you doing an axle mounted servo ?

yup! axle mounted servo! I'll show you the back tonight, haven't done the front links yet! but when I flex, the shaft rub against the upper links in the back...I used some 108mm shocks for now, but I might drop it to 102...find it a little bit high with the Rock beast II on it...I would love to do a TTC with this one! Watched TTC 2012 and i'm hooked on those trucks!

the front will be lower 86mm and upper 96mm, that's the max I can give so the servo horn clear the bumper...I might even have to shave the metal plate a bit!

My bet is that's your problem...they need to be a bit longer in the rear...it will keep it from flopping back over it's roof when you're climbing also. When I first built this I had to add about an inch to my rear links. worked much better after that. My wheel base is right at 13" I think..
