Yeah, that's all the way down. You could notch the truss to bring it down that 2mm further, but the ano is just too nice

Grabbed a real camera on the way out the door.

Nice to have my steering back, doesn't seem any stickier than the alloy diff cover on a plastic housing. Makes a nice sound bouncing off the rocks

That's exactly why I went with black Curries on my Bomber crawler. I love to see them get marked up.

The F9 axle sure is nice, but I just can't get past the big-ass truss! I also like the black anodizing that shows off the abuse they withstand.

The truss is large, I need all the help I can get

I meant to give give my impression of the truck after changing the axle earlier. It is much more planted at all times. When crawling the front is considerably more confident. Going fast the front end "sticks" more. The slight bounce from the front when hitting abrupt edges is nearly gone. It totally changed the feel of the truck.

Jumping is a different story, it is difficult to keep the front end up. Traxxas sized jumps are probably off the menu now, as they should have been a while ago

Switching from the Dlux truss to the VP axle required shorter upper links. I decided to chop a few mm off of my current links and rethread. I managed to cut them ~3mm too short, resulting in a pretty terrible pinion angle.

Tonight's goal was to adjust the lower link rod ends to correct the pinion angle. The current Jato ends were too long, Revo ends too short. Removed 4mm from some fresh Jatos, all is good.

Impressed with my elegant solution, I flexed the truck on my coffee table and realized the truss totally clears the frame! Rolling the axle forward made everything clear with room to spare.

I've done that before, fix one thing that fixes two. It's pretty awesome when you realize you inadvertently killed two birds with one stone. The more you work on them the better they get!

I'm glad to see it fully clears the chassis. I'm running the same shock setup with plans of installing f9 axles.

Time for a bump. Quite a few changes...

Broke more servos, now running the Bluebird BLS H50B, seems pretty tough so far. Picked up the one piece VP servo mount to try, got to throw that on soon. Also waiting on the new VP chromo rear axles, arriving tomorrow.

Switched up the livery. I'm not a super scale guy by any means, but I do pay attention to it. Seems the full blue/black/silver stripe job wasn't how the truck ever really ran. Almost all pics there is no hood at all

The roof is plain silver with 2 or no stickers, when there is a hood it's bare with just the bomb down the front.

My side panels were pretty chewed up, so I went all PS41 Bright Silver, added the side stickers, hood bomb, and cut the other hood sticker in half for the roof. Maybe I'll grab another body set and try to paint up the fancy sides, maybe not

Killed the mic on my $99 Polaroid Cube doing high speed backflips with a Kraton Really wish there was sound on these videos, stuck some Corey Smith on there so it isn't as boring

Trying to get out for a few minutes everyday, not putting nearly the hours in I used to

Chromo rear shafts are in my mailbox, can't wait to check them out tonight.

You're still running Powerstroke Slash Fronts all around, correct?

Fronts in the front, rears in the rear. ~90/100mm.

So you just painted the outside of the RTR panels with ps41? or did you purchase and paint new panels?

New panels. They're like $23 shipped on ebay.

10-4. My build isn't to far from yours minus the badass F9's you have. I love the versatility of this rig! I'm running a MMP with a tekin roc 412 3100KV, HD Gears, spools, Power stroke Shocks, and a few other goodies.

Still sporting a plastic housing in the back, I've only broken 2 rear housings, gotta justify that $150 f9

VP axles are here! I'm impressed, just based on first impression. The shafts are visibly beefier, 4.75mm vs 4mm. The tang is longer as well, 10.5mm vs 9.5mm. There's hope for my BMRC spool in the back!

These are legit.

All tucked away. Fit as expected, better than stock. Zero slop on the pin, had to press it in with the table

Threads are nice and short, rounded slightly as well.

Forgot to grab a pic... but the screwed up dimensions on the BMRC spool allowed the long side axle to walk inward as far as it wants. VP clamping lockout and VP hex are destroyed

I'll run them until the bearing breaks through, at which point I'll need new lockouts, hexes and a correctly engineered spool.
