Oh man this this is looking good. I can't wait for more video.

Most RC trucks are too fast for video so plan on slowing down alot of your footage Jason.

Yeah, I'm researching editing software. Looking for something that won't bust the wallet and won't puke when I throw higher frame rates at it.

Got some parts today.

And Chris...speaking of video, I went to Home Depot and got some GoPro parts.

You've got me curios on the GOPRO mods. Ready to see this thing buttoned up.

Pics and a test video of the first GoPro mount.

Top mount installed. Just a caster wheel, some 8-32 hardware, and some 1/8" MDF to spread the load across the top section of cage.

On the rig

Mounted the pipe and GoPro. Used a long socket on the opposite end - just Duct taped it in place to balance everything. Socket is lighter than the GoPro, just needed to mount it farther from the pivot than the GoPro. Physics and stuff.

Thanks, dude.

I have to say, I got the idea from magic2002's video.

I posted asking for pics/info, studied the shadows in his video, then used the Google-Fu to see if what I was thinking was going on was correct.

$15 later I had everything to make one.

I use Cyberlink Powerdirector 8 and it works very well with 60 fps HD video. I have not played with 120fps yet though.
You can download a trial version and I think I paid $60 or so for my full version. That was the best one I could find for under $100 and the review I read on Cnet put it in the top 3 of their list.

Powerdirector 10 is supposed to be even better.

Not yet, I'm not.

Give a dude some time!

I plan to have multiple camera views in the video. While I'm building the rig I'm also thinking about how to mount the cameras to get some cool shots.

So far I have two locations nailed down for sure. The chase rig will get built at some point, need to get a lot closer to getting this wrapped up before I start the chase rig.

Grizz, thanks. I'll look into it.

Action test is uploading.

To do that I'd make the counterbalance side shorter than the camera side, but that would increase the weight needed on the counterbalance to balance the mount. If you have two GoPros you could mount them equidistant and be good to go.
