That's how boys should be. Working on there stuff in the shop with dads tools. I can sympathize about the shindig. I just got a call to go back to the oilfield this Friday. The night of my misses company Christmas party. Only plus to that is it puts me home for new years eve. Wiring looks awesome.

Wiring is a fuggin' nightmare. Electrically simple, just tedious from an organization standpoint. Maintenance is going to be a nightmare, but I can live with that. I'd rather have everything tucked out of sight and safe from rotating parts instead of having easy access and seeing exposed wiring.

Didn't get to do anything to the rig today. Too busy shopping for suits.

We're running trucks tomorrow so I doubt I'll get anything done tomorrow either. Time with the short dude day.

Coming along good!
I hate messy wiring too, drives me nuts lol. Worst part is how long it takes to neaten up like you said.

I noticed your video rig, good idea. I do a lot of photography of 1:1 cars and video as well. What program are you editing video with?

I can see why you guys went to those rc4wd ax2 transmission. I just put one in the wife's Sa wraith with a 13.5 redline. What a riot. Thanks for telling us about them jia.

No problem. I was on the fence about them until I saw one in action. HAD to get one after that.

Switch panel from Overkill RC arrived today. This is one of two that Austin has made. Norm has the other in his FOJV buggy.

Test fitted it in the old interior pan, working on a new interior pan now. Should have the electronics wrapped up tonight.

Thanks, guys.

Getting a little closer.

Have four of these MOSFETs to install with the switch panel. These will allow me to use 11.1V with the switch panel to power the LEDs. The panel will be powered by the RX8's BEC.

Four more things to find a place for.

A portion of the wiring that will be permanently attached to the Wraith interior tub panel and dash. I'll glue the MOSFETs in place shortly, let them cure overnight, then terminate everything tomorrow before adding the two additional switches that will turn on the 11.1V for winch/LEDs and the RX8.

If you're wondering about the duct tape, I always use duct tape in places where I know painted panels will have abrasion against tube work, screws, etc. Also allows me to use adhesives without worrying about messing up the paint.

MOSFETs glued in place. I'll let'm dry overnight. I also glued down the power cable for the switch board. Space is tight, but it's working out so far.

Looking so nice on the inside. I still need to sit down and do some soldering/wiring, but I really need a clear head to do that. Maybe in a few days.

I really wanted to use the Solid drive flanges made from the LockedUP RC scale wheel nuts but the RC4WD scale drive flanges look so much better. I was having problems with the red paint flaking off the aluminum on the LockedUP wheel nuts. Seems I'll have to trade the actual SOLID logo for the RC4WD logo., but I've got the benefit of durability with the anodized drive flange cap and laser-etched (i think) logo. Durability wins.

I'm sure you covered this. What are the dip switches powering?

Wow, the toggle panel looks killer in there...what'd you do to the aluminum? As it doesn't look like the rattle can clear coat i squirted on when i was experimenting with the finish.

It fits perfect right there...is that a stock wraith interior (excuse my ignorance w/ axial parts )

Also there's 5 floating around (including yours), Norm, you, Tzi, Another guy who's username i can't spell, and one was a raffle prize at the scale championships....this isn't including the many pre-proto's i have.

Alaskancrawler, the dip switches go to nothing. I originally intended to use them but the current capabilities of that panel were on a low side. I then decided to keep them, but only for cosmetic purposes.

Things have evolved quite a bit during the course of this build. When I'm done I plan to have detailed list of ALL parts used that are installed on the rig.

Should be quite the list.

Yeah, stock Wraith interior pan.

For the finish I used a maroon nylon mesh abrasive belt from McMaster. Click the link and scroll to the bottom. Then pick coarse, medium, or fine and the size needed for your belt sander. A little wax and you're done.

Now that I'm nearing completion of this thing, I'm looking at it and going over the parts list. This is the major stuff. Doesn't include various connectors, switches from Radio Shack, power cables, paint, and other common stuff used to build.

Krawler Konceptz skins and winch decals will be added to the list when those are completed and installed.

Here's the final parts list for those interested. With the exception of theTekin Hotwire and the 2-cell and 3-cell Thunder Power 5300mAH batteries (which will be swapped out - depending on how fast I plan on going) everything on this list is permanently mounted in/on the rig.

I know the part descriptions aren't all 100%, but hey.
