For my Stubby that's normal, if "warm" is defined as "cosy to hold when your hand is cold".

That means it gets warmer than my previous 17.5T 2-pole inrunner but nowhere near hot. It's no wonder this motor gets warmer since it's smaller and I also get a little more power out from it.

Has anyone come up with a solution for keeping debris out of the endbell? I like the fact that the Revolver is a like an Ak47, full of mud and dirt and doesn't even notice. But I don't want it to suck up a pebble and rip a magnet out. I wonder if fine metal mesh could be used on the vent holes in the front or something.

That looks to be a good solution there products are very nice. Will the new Holmes hobbies brushless esc drive the revolver motors? Also how well do they do if your pulling a trailer etc.

Thanks

Holmes' new controller and a Revolver make and excellent combo. Super quiet, smooth, and mid-range torque that needs to be experienced.

When do you think you will have more of the 540s in stock?

Yes, I could also do with another, I pulled the one I have out of my BMRC IF/RS wraith, just so I could test it out on my ascender.

Have some parts on the way to test a new winding pattern, it will get rid of the alignment issues but we have to standardize with the factory for future batches. Still going to be months of waiting because of the time between batches, but they are top priority. We will get 540 size motors back in stock first.

Any way to get an email when they are back in stock? Or just keep checking every day?

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will send one out when they are back in stock.

On this batch of protos, I'm getting 3 turn and 4 turn versions to test the KV and back EMF. Should be about 1800kv and 1300kv.

Positive testing on protos so far!! I love my 4 channel scope, makes aligning the sensors super easy. My changes to the assembly worked like a charm. SUPER snappy forward to reverse operation now, we should have zero timing issues in the future as the new layout gives about 8 mechanical degrees of "wiggle room" VS 0.5 degrees of the previous.

Downside is that our samples were not supplied with the proper laminations so we can't properly test the RPM and wattage limits. But I do have more on the way right now.

3 turn 540 version friggin rocks! Although admittedly I'm spoiled by the speed and smoothness of the 3300kv Puller Pro Stubby. But when it comes to brute torque and predictable wheelspeed through different conditions, the Revolver is absolutely unmatched. The rotor inertia really smooths out small throttle jitters and makes me feel like a better driver

Start at stock gearing....always start at stock gearing, after you take a temp reading, and the temp is still within acceptable tolerances, then start changing the gearing., that is if your not getting to performance your after....

The ascender is easy, there are less gearing combinations to work with...

JRH,
Sorry if this has been asked before but 50+ pages is a lot to read through but is it possible to get a Revolver S 540-S Stubby made with a 20mm motor mount pattern?
Thanks
