Default Scaler question

I am about to pull the trigger on buying a 4pl. I spent the last couple hours reading this thread. Checked the PDF of the manual too......... I want to use the SW2 3 position switch in an "in - neutral - out" configuration on a winch setup with SW1 used as a momentary on for it. Is that possible? (or necessary?)

I have a Futaba from the early 90s that still works great.....but it's time to upgrade! I'm sure the 4PL won't let me down. Thanks for all of the info!

Setting SW1 as a momentary won't work because it's two positions. So it would go from in to out, not neutral. The SW2 slider would control it all though.

Harley, i am running a punk dig and a mamba micro pro. It was working fine and then I went to set the dt2 switch to activate my dig. I dont know what I did but now my esc wont arm and I have no throttle and the sw2 3 position wont avtivate the punk dig. I reset everything and it still won't work. Steering is fine and the throttle shows active on the display when I move the throttle control. I did the setup per the castle book and the lights blinked but it just wont arm. Help buddy, I am so frustated!

Hmmmm. So there is no response from the ESC at all now? It was running fine before though? The lights on the ESC are not responding to any input from the radio?

Have you checked the connections going into the RX? Did you unplug anything?

Ok. Now I can go forward but I have no reverse. It acts like when I go into reverse it puts on the brakes. I have tried everything and still cant figure it out. I had steering, throttle with reverse and the sw2 would work my punk dig. Now I have forward,no reverse and the sw2 wont activate the punk dig. It just stays green all the time. Was working fine until I tried to set the dt2 switch to activate the dig.

Start with a new model. Make sure you didn't mess with some weird setting. Make sure you don't still have the SW programmed to the punk dig first of all.

If you have forward then you should have reverse unless. I need you to answer all the questions though or I can't help.

Did you plug and unplug anything in the RX?
Do the lights on the ESC respond to the throttle?
Everything worked exactly properly before?

Again, make sure you don't have the SW and DT programmed to control the punk.

No i didnt unplug anything after I got it all in the truck. I even tried everything before I installed everything in the chassis.
I reset the model I had saved.
Lights do respond to throttle input
When in reverse it acts like I have it set to brake mode or something.

If the lights are responding that means the radio is sending a reverse signal. There is nothing different the radio can do other then send the signal. It sounds like your ESC reset to a default setting. Plug it into a Castle Link and check that out.

Get back to me tomorrow and let me know if it fixed it. We will run through a few other things if it didn't. It doesn't sound like you have a radio problem though.

Figured it had to be some sort of hardware error elsewhere. Glad you located it.

Ok. I got my wire soldered back and the truck will go forward, dig works on sw2 switch as it should but when I try to go in reverse it does not. It acts like you put the brakes on when you try to do a reverse. WHY? I have checked and double checked everything. All connections are good now. There is nothing activated that has anything to do with the braking system of the 4pl. All settings are set to inh ( i think that's right). Thanks again harley for your help.
