My front axle is damned heavy with brass knuckles, brass lower plates and loaded dice along with steel beef tubes so yea, it sucks up a pile of torque just to whip the tires around through their 140* lock to lock sweep. That being said the servo isn't terrible. Yes it's a bit slower than I'm used to but the speed it has is fine while in use. The steering torque isn't awesome but it's about as weak as I'm willing to go and not immediately remove it. It steers fine but it's return to center torque is rather weak unless in motion. When I wedge a front tire I can normally steer back and forth to shove the tail around to help get unwedged but that isn't happening with this servo. I'm sure this servo is a scale nerds wet dream though. It's pretty quiet, it didn't get much more than warm in 2+ hours of straight crawling and it will surely whip 1.9's around like nothing. I'll leave it in my crawler until the bluebird situation is sorted out then the promodler will land in my beater, it's more than enough for that rig. |

He's driven my SHV500, but I've yet to convince him as he refuses to run one until they are 4s capable... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Oh, yeah - I remember him talking to John in the SHV500 thread about that..... my bad! I finally got mine soldered up and ready to install. Still haven't really started my RR10 build because life intruded - in a good way - financial worries were for nothing! So, what did I go and do? Rewarded myself with a big RPP order and a few more items through Amazon... So, waiting for more parts (again). |

Well I've got mine tested a bit on the SCX10 and I was impressed enough to buy another v4 for my new SCX10 II kit. Plenty of torque to toss around the 1.9 RB XLs, but the part I can't believe is how quiet the thing is. I know my Xperts and Hitecs just hum along, but I can't even tell this thing is on until it moves. I would definitely be interested to see a slightly smaller, more powerful v5, or something for the 2.2s in the $100 category . Last edited by Sneetches; 10-20-2016 at 10:47 AM. |

Well I actually got a good testing day with a friend in and we took my Wraith and SCX10 out to the lake and sent them into the rock fills. It was pretty much TTC style, and I don't normally drive like that, but we had fun for 3 hours regardless. It was enough to convince him to get a Wraith Anyways, it wasn't exactly SCX10 territory but we beat the poor thing until one of my rod ends failed on the lower links. There was a lot of wedging, spur grinding, "just pin it and see what happens", and servo stalling. I really can't recall sitting on any particular lines and thinking "if only I had more steering", IMO the torque is fine for 1.9s but I definitely wouldn't run one in my Wraith just because I think 2.2s are a bit too much for 420 oz-in and the Wraith is better off with a 7950TH. I shimmied off a couple rocks for testing and while the speed isn't the best, I was still able to get it done, depending whether or not the RB XLs would let me slide or not. I stalled it many times while trying to flail out of crevices and trying to turn up some rocks while parked up against them, but running with a Castle BEC on 7.4v meant that my ESC wasn't going to be grenaded any time soon. Overall, I'm happy with the servo and while I've only got 3 hours of serious driving in on it, I'll keep chugging along and see what happens. If it continues to hold up, then I think it's a great baseline for the value you should be able to get from an $80 servo. My new V4 will also have a MUCH easier life in the SCX10 II, since that thing would have been nowhere near the rock fill we got into. I know I brought up the 7950TH, but last I remember I paid $40 more for that thing. For the specs, I'm not sure what else you can get for $80 that really compares unless you go Chinese, or bump up to $100+ for a Hitec or Savox... Last edited by Sneetches; 10-24-2016 at 03:49 PM. Very nice John! I just placed my order and hopefully it will arrive before I leave for the Oregon RECON G6. I'm looking forward to showing off this bad-boy! I got lots of comments last year with the 420. This new 470 on my Wromber, once it's all cleaned up and has new panels and paint, should really turn some heads. |

It's here! Orders in. Thank god! Just in time! The analog Hitec 645-mg did infact make it through all this time I was searching for a new servo option and discovered Pro-Modeler. I should've got 2, but since Mr. John mentioned he's teamed up with another shop too increase production, it shouldn't be a problem having to wait to order like we did before. When I test it out and use it for a couple weeks and find that its the ultimate servo, than I shall purchase a couple more for my other rigs and one for my ol' ladys yet to be purchased rig. I think I'm going to get her the MST CFX-W because it matches the wheelbase for her already purchased and dusty body waiting to be mounted to a until very recently an undecided platform. Thanks again Mr. John for letting us know they are ready and also not forgetting about us surface guys, specifically the crawling genre. Also, thankyou guys on here at RCC for helping me discover such a well thought out and dilgently developed unit. Can't wait to give them a pounding on the rock's! |

I have to wait 4 looong days to order mine - caught a bad billing cycle right now, LOLz. Saw that nice email in my inbox from John - very grateful that his health is improving and he has gotten so much accomplished here. Awesome new specs! And that PRICE!!!! I was always willing to spend an extra $20 when the bronze bushings were added..... Now with up to 50 oz-in more torque and a nice speed increase - no prob at ALL.
