After doing some testing, it's my motor that is bad, not working at all. I have the TMP 20t running on 3s. My brushes are pretty worn down. Is this normal for a motor I only have for 3 weeks and 4 packs through it?

Default Where is Holmes Hobbies???

Is it just me, or has it been tough to contact this company?
Anyone know what's up? What happens if we need warranty help?
No phone numbers for contact as well, only e-mail.

I just shorted my BR-XL and was wondering if anyone has sent their esc back for repairs or should I just save up for a new BR-XL?

Thanks in advance, Russ

I'm trying to place an order on your website and I keep getting an error stating "The characters you typed do not match the characters in the picture. Please try again."
I'm typing them correctly...I've tried now many times with the same result.

Also I sent you a BRXL that stopped working. I was wondering if you got it?
thanks.

This seems to be a Firefox issue as I was able to place my order with IE.

Sorry for the long time on tech support, we have been busy setting up a new shop.

I'm not in any rush for them, just excited to see what they will do. For some reason I can't log in to your website and the 'forgotten password' link says it doesn't recognize my email address. I did get a payment conf. from paypal, order number 7578.
Looks like she shipped already!

We never got new art on the beanies. I will try again and if we can't get it settled soon I will refund the order.

Cheers,

We certainly offer matched motors, great to hear they have been treating you well! When you order them on the site, it is a simple option to select for matching.

I think a 25t is a great place for a scaler. Most people select between 25t and 30t.

Shipping out today, my apologies for the long wait on this build. It is already built and ready for you, I just need to swing over to the processing facility and box it up today.

As I walked over to the rig I saw heavy 'magic white smoke' coming from under the hood. When I opened the hood you could see the heat radiation coming off of the motor.

My question is, should I be looking for a different type of motor? Would a 550 be a step in the right direction? Do you 'dabble' with 550's?

This is the 3rd motor that I've cooked in the past 9 months. I'm out of good HH motors now and I don't want to buy any more until I can get something figured out. Any input/advice would be greatly appreciated!
Anything in water and mud will get beat on pretty hard. The only way to cram more power into the same size package is to use higher grade magnets, which currently means a brushless motor. The other option is a cheap motor that is easily replaceable. Just depends on whether you are ruining motors from muck or from asking for a lot of power.

We do mess with 550 motors, and if you can fit one it would at least give you lower operating temperatures. I don't have any available right now, but ebay would be a good source. Alternatively you could use a brushless motor, like a 550 size short course motor from Tekin. Big power!

The 20t on 3s is quite hungry for brushes, particularly with tall gearing. You have a lot of power pulsing through the motor! Every 4 packs would be about right for swapping in a fresh set.

We are moving to a new facility, pretty much fully moved in now. I am looking to get a new business line, but unfortunately I wouldn't have time for phone support right now. Considering I get about 100 emails a day you can imagine what the phone lines would look like, I wouldn't be able to get anything done! Did that two years ago and I was averaging about four hours on the phone per day, and the business isn't big enough to pay somebody to be phone support (yet)

Any warranty issues, just send it in to me with a note of what is going on. We will be here for the long haul! We are just a bit overstretched lately and need a few more hours per week of help.

716 W. Sexton rd.
Columbia, MO 65203

That is where to send warranty if you need it.

We have a flat rate repair/ replace policy now. $45 for a brand new ESC with new warranty! Sounds like it could be your best bet if you killed it.

Maybe wait a few minutes then. Essentially, I have rebuild services in the "service and labor" section of the site and the motor armatures are in the motor/ brushed/ replacement parts section. I think a 35t would do you well.

Looking to order some motors for my XR
I am running 3, maybe 4s and 2 of your ESCs.
Any recommendations? I was thinking 35T TorqueMaster Pros or 16T CrawlMasters

That sounds like a good plan to me, both will take 4s well.
