KInda confused on this one?
•You must run a rail chassis (for example: Bruiser/Mountaineer, SCX-10, Reign RC K2-3S, 3L, 4, 5, MFM, X-Trail, CR-01, UTE, etc...). No TVP (twin vertical plate) chassis' or frame rail extensions on a TVPs. Tub chassis' are allowed, but chassis must be covered by the body and follow all other scale rules per class guidelines. An example of a tub chassis vehicle is CC-01, DF01, Twin Hammers, etc.

GCM make a few chassis that are not rail. Cross Cannon, Skeleton. Also I have seen this Toyzuki's new Chassis. I know of people that drove Skeleton at ECSC this year.

What's the low down?

All of those listed are designed to be scale chassis. Everyone understands what a scale chassis is compared to a comp chassis (except for maybe you). If you have a question about a certain chassis, just post up a picture of the one you are considering. That's what this thread is for.

*Edit*

So I guess I don't understand....this doesn't look like a rail chassis to you? Really? This is a GCM Skeleton....

I very clearly understand the difference. I was told buy someone a Cross Cannon is not legal.

It looks very scale to me.

No they are to tall, you need 1.5 growlers if you want to stick with the pitbulls.

Class 1 tire size is max 4.19

Another one:

Apart from the headlights and taillights -2 what about additional lighting? Spotlights, rocklights etc. Are they functional items or realistic exterior items. Or is it just -2 for all the lights just as long as you have the mandatory headlights and taillights?
Any insight into this?

And another one:
In class 2 and 3 a bumper needs to be wider than the chassis to get points. At which point of the chassis is this width measured?
At the point where the bumper is attached? Or at the widest point of the chassis?
There are some aftermarket bumpers for the scx frame that are just wider than the frame where the bumper attaches. They are not wider than the frame at the skidplate. Do they meet the requirements to be legal for class 2 and do you get points for them in class 3?

An example:
Tough Armor Stubby Front Bumper to fit Axial SCX10
Is this legal for class 2? Do you get points for it in class 3?

You are over reading the rules and making it complicated.

Wider where the bumper attaches.

Your not the first to point that out, but you might want to mock it up to see how it's going to hinder other things.
And also realize, when you push the rules on the line of what's "legal" but outside the lines of scale, rule intent, and good fun - all you do is build a rig that you'll end up having to rebuild when the rule is rewritten.

Got a question regarding the realistic non functional items, specifically the wipers. I have a new bright jk body and the wipers are molded into the body do I still get points for them or no? sorry for the quality and I will be painting them black to make them stand out I just painted the body last night

Assuming it is one that is all tube, you would need to have a ladder style chassis to be legal in C2. That could be a full chassis from front to back or it could be a truggy style from front to behind the skid(cab).

Lexan body is a lexan body - modified or not, that doesnt change.
Hope that answers your question.

I would say NO there molded into the body and not separate pieces, probably not what you wanted to hear but that's how I would call it.
