I am cool with the current rules. I mean at least I still have options.

I just would be concerned if I were to purchase dlux knuckles for my 4ws c3 and next year they are outlawed?

Thats 200$ thrown down the drain!

60$ for my blue monkeys was a little disheartening. But 200 more and I may blow a gasket. LOL

So in this regards I am 100% fine with the current rules.

This was discussed in length by both SORRCA and U4 with the same conclusion to accept them as legal. The whole premise was to not allow the non scale bolt on rings. The Dlux knuckles are still just knuckles, and even mimic a 1:1 style knuckle. Not everyone is going to agree what is scale or not scale, but sometimes you have to drawl the line somewhere.

Dlux knuckles are exact what they are "knuckles" just because there made brass doesn't make them any more or less then exactly what they are knuckles.

P.s. Kick a$$ one's to boot.

Thanks for the pic. More than proves my point. The real one is a knuckle. The other was purposely produce to be adjustable and lower the cg. If it does not spin. It is not a wheel weight. The only similarity is the bolt location which are used for securing two completely different devices. One is for steering and the other is to connect the knuckle weight to the C.

So if only the aluminum or delrin versions without slugs were the only ones legal it would not upset anyone.

Why should it matter what they are made from?

P.s. Just roll with it. I had rc bro knuckle weight on a few of mine. I just sold them and bought dlux knuckles. I see the main reason they became not legal. It the half rings you can run under you cog. It not scale at all. But did love them.

But fact is a knuckle is a knuckle.

This seems to make sense. So then a bolt on brass piece designed to look like a scale outer drum brake housing would be legal right?

Yes, if it is the style that bolts to the wheel like the new TSS ones. I would always recommend painting them though.

I live in New Mexice and I just read the trail class rules that are going to be used in the state championship and I'm still unclear if my rig can run in the 1.9 trail class because my whole chassis and axle housings are custom made by me and it has a 13.25" wheelbase.

So if I put rotor stickers on my blue monkey weights they are good.

Just kidding. So if it spins its good. Unless they are heavy knuckles.

Not sure on those rules. This is the SORRCA rule thread.

Per SORRCA, that would be a Class 2 rig.

Those are the USRCCA "scale" rules that they made up to bring more people into crawler comps. If you're looking for SORRCA scale rules, they are here:

2015 Scale Rules

With what I can tell from your pictures, it's a class 2 truggy.
