| Re: mgputer Build ****Now With Pics**** Got some more done. Not sure what I am going to do about the wheelbase as I don't want to shorten it. Thinking about building a flatbed or maybe a truggy. Also I was thinking of possibly dovetaling the rear. Not sure where I am going yet but I am going to figure something out soon. |

The way you have the body situated looks great. The red frame with black body keeps a real classic look but altering the body seems like it would lose some of that classic build luster. Maybe some chevron treaded tires and some trimming on the rear fender flares. I was going to suggest some rock rails/side pipes for this beast.

The look is why I am having issues cutting the body at all. I just love the way it looks and it is coming along just like I saw it in my head. I have an idea for the rear fenders but it will be a long shot and it scares me to think I could ruin it!!! Also sliders and bumpers are in the works. I just wanted to get the body 100% configured before I start bending and brazing. | |

it would require some styrene work, but taking the rear fenders and rolling them up in the back would look good, or you could cut the fenders off, plate the side of the bed and the move the fenders back on the bed. your could also get away with cheating both axles forward a bit, not a lot, but enough to make up the difference with one of the other two solutions I mentioned. but yeah, keep those fenders man, look great.

I was thinking the same thing with wood panel also. Something like deep lacquered cherry wood. Maybe a keg fuel tank gasser style. LOVE the running boards.

Instead of stretching them I cut them right off. I put styrene diamond plate on then used shoe goo to hold the fenders on with ultra thin fiberglass sheets for strength. We'll see how it holds up. If they don't stay on I am going to just buld an entire new box out of styrene. Seeing the rig makes me want to put a box on it like a bobbed M35 would have. I think it would look pretty sweet!! |

Took it out a bit for its first crawl with the body on and it works well. I am going to get a set of Axial light buckets and put some lights on the front. I am going to make a bumper this afternoon out of tube and make some light mounts in the 34 ford standard position. Should look pretty good.

Ordered them at the LHS. They get stuff in 24hrs if its in their Distributors warehouse. Cracked the body a bit today. Went out with my bro and after a couple tumbles the body tore. Going to have to get the roll cage in it so it doesnt continue. |

Here is some pics with it lowered a bit and inner fenders and some new scratches from yesterdays adventures! As soon as I sell a few things I am ordering a set of RC4WD OEM white spoke wheels. Should look sweet on here. I wish they had the chomes like I used to have on my 1980 f150 with swampers. Going to start making the inner cage and bumpers today. Still cant decide on the bumper style I want to run...either more scale or a stinger in the front with a scalish one in the back. |
