Holy moly. This is amazing!!!! Don't think I've ever seen a scale power steering box in any rc. But did that year bronco have power steering?

step one- find an uncut early bronco rear quarter on the internet- scale it to 1:10 and print! test fit-

my photos jump aroun d a bit this time- deal with it. real radius arm mounting- I got rid of the temp bar and shortened them a bit.

shortened by this much~

results: nice and scale-

now back to the fender-

make the fender out of styrene now-

add simple interior reinforcement-

drill multitude of holes for the "welds" and hold in place with toothpicks from the dang circus!

all glued up~

tada!

thats all for today hope everyone sleeps good!

yes, my 74' Ranger does have stock power steering-

I have been throwing around the idea of taking an HO scale train truck set and pulling the worm and drive gear out of them and trying to put that stuff into my PS box. how flippin cool would that be? REAL WORKING STEERING! not fees-able, but still a cool idea!

Would be a cool idea but pointless if it didn't do anything.

update for this evening- redoing the steering box so I can actually use it- (what is a stupid scale rig if you cant actually use the steering box!)
it will be functional, but you will see an arm interior of the frame rail which will be actuated by a servo somewhere towards the rear of the vehicle- I will hopefully hide the actuating arm with the scale power brake booster and master cylinder- is this getting complicated yet?

update minus pics~ I made several shocks, the front is a stud type just like the 1:1 and it came out really nice! I can get rid of those fugly arsed shock hoops and put in my scale shock towers I made originally- work on the interior has begun. the GREAT news is that it is falling together like a jigsaw puzzle! and it looks GOOD! I still have ideas on how to do the scale spare tire carrier in the back of my head- I think* I am gonna use the steel brake line as it bends really well w/o kinking. gonna do the same thing with it- source an image on line and scale it to fit then make a template.

will post pics sometime.................... tonight, this weekend? next week who knows-

Gotta get them picks up tonight!
Interested to see how your shocks came out. If they look anything like they do on my 1.1 bronco it should be well worth looking at and scrutinizing....

The shocks are up to standard! Nicely done. It looks like the floor sits right about where it would on. 1.1. Height wise anyways. Coming along great. But I still say this should be a custom offroader type build. Not a stocker. But it's ur rig not mine.
Here's a inspiration pic for you.

Semi stock

I should have checked in sooner...seems I missed alot. OMG! You have come a long way on this Bronco and I'm astonished at the detail and skill you are putting into it. Seems you and I have the same build going on, although I don't forsee mine being as well put together as yours.

Just love how the MTZ's and stocker rims look under the body. Sweet ride. I'm intrigued with the scale suspension you did and with those new front shocks that original tower will be perfect.

I'm gonna be keeping my eye on this.

I am thinking for times sake I will have to use the cut body for the car show. Its no huge deal I guess. It will look something like the black one in the picture you posted! (or is that blue?)

It actually is blue. I thought it was black to when I found those pictures months ago and saved them to my phone. I only recently was looking at them and discovered it actually is a dark Blue. Badass right...
