About to resume building new shocks for it, as I type. Got some Gmade Dual Stage XD's from the LHS yesterday.

What weight oil are you going to use?

Edit: Sorry...just saw your thread asking about oil weights lol

Yeah, I can report back in my thread in the general forum. I'm trying to get them assembled with out any built-in rebound (or compression ).

Got tired of having to wiggle and finesse battery leads into the battery box with my large packs so I cut down the sides of the tray and added a custom external aluminum plate to protect the batt compartment. On my soft packs, the leads come out the top corner of the pack so this extra space allows them to make a nice 90* bend to the ESC lead without being kinked.

Built kit shocks. I finally, FINALLY got a set of shocks to behave correctly after taking the better part of an hour to fill & bleed them. Just the right amount of rebound and damping. Yay!

Bushings will be in the mailbox today and they can get mounted.

Are the internals of the kit shocks the same as the RTR? Is it just the caps and collars that are different?

I couldn't answer that...I'm sure someone else can? Inquiring minds want to know!

Yes they are the same except for the cap / collars.

The kit also has the dual rate pistons in the box.

Replaced my blown up front shaft (and in decent shape rear) with a pair of MIP shafts. Time to charge the LiPo!

Yeah, I found the dual rate pistons while the shocks were going through their second bleed period.

Dang it. Maybe at rebuild time.

Sorry...didn't mean to say "bleed" and "period" in the same sentence....

My RTR had the dual rate pistons on the parts tree. I put them in when I rebuilt the stock shocks a while back. Definitely a good free upgrade. I'd like to find some dual rate pistons that will work with my new shocks.

Hit the woods on a rare OMG less than 90° NC July day?! for some trailing, crawling, and root jumpin' for the Bomber's first real run.

I officially take back anything I said about the 3300kv HH TM Pro not being fast enough! Goes from hellaciously fun to wildly uncontrollable quickly in the woods!

It definitely put even the girl's Ascender to humility crawling our favorite torture boulders. I frickin' love this rig!

Elapsed time of events:

- 2 mile trail, including crawling stops and unscheduled Vaterra maintenance: 4.5 hours

- 4000 mah 3S Gens Ace battery: 3.5 hours w/cutoff at 3.4v

- DS3218 servo: 4 hours

Limped it back to the car with the choice of straight ahead or slightly left turn. I didn't expect it to last long but it soldiered well. It'll get replaced with the 3Brothers G13 when it gets here.

Yeah, the DS3218 isn't what I'd pick for such large tires - only for a 1.9" or smaller rig... then it's great!

I picked up a used RTR Bomber last week. I took apart the transmission and T-case and cleaned and greased it. I was surprised how little lube there was in there. It’s good for some miles now!

I got my Pro-line shocks all mounted and ready. Little adjustments needed but very happy with them.
