However, the Venom 3S 5000mah 35C batteries I have fit great! So, I'll be using those I guess.

***EDIT

If I had known, I should have ordered the 7400mah 90C, and they might have fit everything I have.

7200 = 160MM
7400 = 139mm
If you try them, post up how well they fit and you like how they run and then part numbers if they do

lost a lower shock spring retainer, ordered rebuilt kits to have extra stuff on hand, and ordered 95mm limiting straps so I can stop beating on my shocks.

If you go brushed motor, there is nothing better than a hobbywing 1080 esc.

And a Holmes Hobbies TrailMaster Sport 550 21t motor...

The 550 can will give you more torque for the big 2.2" tires...

That Holmes motor and HobbyWing ESC plus a DS3218 servo, with a FlySky GT3C tx/rx combo should come standard in every RTR that the 550 motor will fit, in my opinion.

Substitute a Holmes TrailMaster Sport 540 can in 35t or 27t depending on application for whatever won't take a 550 can...

Progress pic and rpp had a discount code so ordered Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster 21t, Vanquish rear sway bar, Vanquish servo clamps, and Crawler Innovation foam work stand and hopefully this weekend will be buying the rest of my electronics from the lhs

Have my wheels installed. 2.2 ALIENTAC. A little narrow being the inner ring is only .750" inch wide. Would love to get a larger inner ring. But a good start for now.

Also, my CFM aluminum panels will be in tomorrow.

Do yourself a favour and get better grub screws for that sway bar.
I changed out to M4 4mm flat head grub screws and since doing so about 3 months ago have not had a single slip whereas prior with the stock screws it was every run.

Had a blast yesterday with this rig. Only ran 1 pack through it, and other than scraping up the panels some...no issues. And wasn't keeping up with the time, but it seemed I got almost an hour out of a 5000\35C battery. Loving this Holmes Hobbies PP motor so far!

Changed out the servo arm. Went from the Losi 25T aluminum arm to the longer aluminum Axial 25T arm to get a little more steering. Will need to adjust my endpoints again. Also mounted the steering link on the back of the servo arm this time so the link is now parallel with the axle. This presented another issue...the rear nut was hitting the diff housing. So, I added a few spacers that l had to bring the servo forward a few mm's so that issue is solved now.

Changed out one end of my rear upper links with the Jato ends, and the drive shaft is level now, instead of pointing down.

Parts! Savox 1230sg, spectrum dx5c, vanquish servo mount/clamps, vanquish rear sway bar, a 2s 5000mah lipo, decent charger, axial ae5 esc, HH Trailmaster 21t.... Still gotta build shocks and paint body parts and figure out a pinion gear...

You're going to want to use a 3S LiPo for maximum enjoyment, SubieSquirrelRC...

And when you can afford it, switch over to a HobbyWing 1080 ESC, the best brushed ESC for the money(only about $40).

Snap, with the exception of the ESC!
I geared down to 10/64 which still gives good top end but awesome low end

Changed from AX313120 to Hot Racings Aluminum Rear upper shock mount RRT30U01.
1. I want to ad some weight to the rear end. Sure it is above centre of mass, but with VP wheels and axles it should work on a 8.8 Ib rig
2. Everytime I have go to the motor, the upper screws from the shocks have to be undone. Doing this is much better in Alumnium then plastic.
