It's amazing build. Just means I have to step up when I start putting together all the parts I've collected.
Are those switch panels available to order or are they a one off?

The switches aren't available just yet, but get with Austin (losikid) at Overkill RC and ask. He may have something for you.

I've been looking at those Mad Dog RC light bars more and more, and the more I look the more I want.

I looked back a few pages and I probably missed it, but that switch panel is mostly for the LED light bars with the exception of the BEC controller, right? So you can individually turn on and off the light bar, rock lights, front light bar, and is that wired direct from the battery?

Yes, the Overkill RC switch panel will be used for LED bars.

I'll have to sit down with Photoshop and create a full wiring diagram. The panel itself will get power from the RX8's BEC, the LED bars will be turned on/off by the panel, but powered by the little 850mAh 3-Cell Li-Po.

Oh ok, gotcha
I might look into something like that for my Wraith after I figure out how many Mad Dog light bars I want to run. Seems like a cleaner way to manage them rather than half assed switches and 8 miles of wire everywhere.

So essentially you have one power lead going to the switch panel and your other lights are feeding off of that? Almost like a distribution block?

My head isn't the clearest right now - hard to focus, but the switch panel is switching ground (from the 3-cell Li-Po) for the MOSFETs, which the 11.1V is actually passing through. The RX8's BEC is powering the LEDs on the switch panel and low-current stuff. I think I'll have the 3Racing LED bar in switch position 1 - powered by the RX8's BEC, the other four positions (for the MadDog LED bars) will use the MOSFETs since they'll be on 11.1V.

The LED bars will be wired to the MOSFETs, the switch panel is switching ground for those FETs.

So, when it's complete, are you going to bash it or just sell it & start again?

The Exo-Wraith I made, based on your build sold for over $1,100 a couple months ago. And yours is way cooler than my build! Glad to see this build still going!

Regardless of what the parts total is, I wish mine had as little out of pocket cost as yours does.

Sad thing is that I've got over twice that in this thing - not counting the hook-ups.

I'll take it out, crawl, have fun with it. Not going to beat on it. I have Fat Girl for that.

As little? Even with the hook-ups I'm positive I've still got you beat on out-of-pocket expense. This has not been a cheap one to build. The most expensive one I've built.

You'll win the race, I've got under-drive gears.

There's only 5 of those in existence, also the 5th design/revision (all the previous designs haven't seen the public eye). I'm working on the 6th design/revision which is mostly aesthetics, and will hopefully have afew proto's of those built up in the next month or two. I think this will be the final version, but i may find another imporvment and push the release back another couple months

In his setup, he had hi voltage and high current requirements, so the toggle panel didn't act as a distribution block because the toggles in use have a really low power handling capability. Instead the toggles turn on/off a MOSFET, which is basically a relay/soleniod/switch/etc. But no moving parts.

However, each toggle can power 4 possibly 5 normal leds at 6 volts...which in that case it would act as a distribution block

You can also wire up the esc on/off switch to the toggle panel to turn it on/off...i think norm did this on his fojv buggy

Yeah, one of the other two switches will have to handle that. Your panel will handle all the MadDogRC LED bars and the 3Racing LED kit.

Getting started on the updated (and final ) wiring diagram now.

Wiring diagram is done for those interested.

The image is much larger, just copy the url and open in a new tab/window to see things more clearly than what you see on the forum.

A lot of stuff going on haha.

After Losikids explanation along with yours I see why the MOSFETs were used. Smaller switch can controller another "switch" that handles higher power the small switch can't.

I'm debating whether or not to put a switch on the BEC Pro or just unplug the battery.

Got another switch a few days ago.

Been messing around routing all the wires so they go where they need to and allow the interior pan to sit properly. Also been trying to keep maintenance in mind as I wire it all. That's been fun.

Random picture. Just because.

With as many channels this rig has, how many pilots does it take to run on the rocks?

Really this rig is amazing, I in no way have the kind of patience or knowledge for a build like this, but I enjoy watching and dreaming about it one day
