It looks like you have a comp soon so maybe try this after. You don't need that much weight to keep the front end down. I run one VP knuckle weight cut in half and that's more than enough to keep the front tires on the rock. Try switching the shock positions to the opposite front and rear. Stand the front shocks up on hole (towards the front of the chassis) and lay the rear shocks down one hole (towards the center of the chassis). This will stiffen the front slightly and loosen up the rear a bit which should help keep the fronts down. Everything else looks good. |

Yeah, comp Sat.. Ok on the shocks, I talked with slowride1 a little an he said the same for the front. For the rear, should I go one hole in from the rear on the top row or one more hole on the bottom row? As for the weight, its been working real good for me I just put cut it in half an got it under the axle. That an I just went from 5.25"CI soft up front to 5.5" med.. I'm a little worried bout dropping weight right now till I test the foam out. What's ur foam setup? Are you running the Bc's as well? |

If you're happy with the way it's working then don't change anything before Saturday. For the rear shock question. I have mine on the third hole in (from the rear) and on the bottom row. I run Sedona's, Rovers and Boss Claws. All three foam setups are different. I believe I have 5.5" soft on the front of my Boss Claws but not 100% certain. |

Im running 5.25 med ci foams in front with stock claw foam rear with good success. I also have the additional knuckle weight ring cut in half and mounted same as you do. Only thing i have different is im running the rear upper up one more hole. I found this setup to work good but when i added 1 1/2 oz to each side of the rear axle, the truck really came alive. I could not get the switch to perform the way I like under 5 pounds, im sitting rtr at 5.3 and finally totally happy with it. Best of luck with your tuning

Thanks john.. Hunter15, my 1.9 rovers are cut an shut 4.25" tall.. had custom foams made for them by Rmdw.. it softened the side walls an got them to work better.. I shave the sidewalls off all my comp tires, some cons, lotsa pros.. |

End of a good day.. only ran a g6 with the scalers.. didn't get a final in that but not first or second.. 7 points behind first place in 1.9 but had a loose electrical wire on one course an a wheel fall off on another course.. so all in all.. not so bad.. one of those things not happen an first place was possible.. drum roll...... Newly built switch xr without final tuning done yet... 1ST PLACE! with the pins... Very predictable an great running rig!

Great Job today. Your rig was fun to run after the comp, it was very stable and predictable. Thanks for letting me have some wheel time with it. DAVE you were wrong!! Pins worked very well at Actives with a light rig. Even when they wet and slightly muddy.

I'll tell ya, it felt real good an made all the efforts an late nights(early mornings) way worth it! It's my first 1st place! An now its the End of the season for me.. :( that just means all winter to dial it in an learn the new rig so I can start next season off with high hopes of more to come! Got the new chaotic upper links for the vp link mounts when I got home today, so when I get them on ill post up pics of the new setup. Thanks John, no problem on running it. I was looking forward to feed back from you with more years of experience an the amount of diff rigs, I'm sure, you have got to run. Last edited by winnerone23; 10-27-2012 at 07:22 PM. |
