Awesome thread guys. Info galore. Thx losikid for organizing it all.

Question. I just got my programming card and seems the fates have removed the pics that were in the programming instructions found on the net. Anyone know a website that still has them active?

Losikid I swear I read somewhere that you were changing hosts or something and gave tips on how to find stuff on your site while your doing your move. Cant find that post now though.

Thanks for any help.

The new firmware let an a/d port act as either a button or analog channel. If you wanted a pot you could get one pot in there by replacing the channel 3 button
I'd love to replace the channel 3 button with a pot. I have it setup now to do dig like your instructions do, but would prefer a knob to turn left/right to change bias of dig.

As of now, the pot can only control a channel, not a mix

I will definitely go for the pot on CH3 and give it a go.
I am wondering what kind of Pot I should get?
What K Ohm? I imagine 10K would work?

5k...although 10k would work too.

Resistance isn't a huge issue because all the pot does is form a potential divider to vary the output voltage from 0volts to 5volts...this output voltage is then read by the A/D converters to create a 8 bit digtal output (1024 steps (what you see in the calibration menu))

After installing the pot you'll need to calibrate it through the calibration menu (turn wheel full clockwise, and press enter (might be enter-LONG))

As for pot install....find a 5volt and 0volt line (splicing into the throttle is probabaly the easiest). Then find the circuit that is connecting the ch3 button to the microchip, and use that as your center wire.

reverse cogging?

i put the 3 channel rx in my MRC, all stock electronics, set endpoints, and trims. nothing else, throttle is smooth forward but cogs terribly through the whole range of throttle in reverse. steering is smooth. did not do this with original losi tx/rx where do i need to start making adjustments? i didn not put the rx antenna up through the straw, just laid it along the battery tray.

Turn off your ABS on the radio.

So, I'm programmed for dig. When you push the switch for front/rear dig, is the opposing wheel (that's supposed to be locked) supposed to rotate forward ever so slightly? It's almost like the trim is wrong, but only when dig is enabled.

Next, when you have it proportional front/rear if you set it to anything other than 0 it only goes forward. Is reverse supposed to work proportionally? Say I have it set to -20 (so the back is going slower) I can go forward just fine, but reverse only makes the front wheels go reverse. The rears are locked or going 20% slower forward than the fronts.

I can only comment on this part.

How much slop is in your drivetrain?? Any slop in the hex/wheel connection, CVD/dogbone joint, axle shaft to diff, gear to gear, pinion to spur, etc. will ALL translate to wheel movement whether the motor is locked or not.

Is this what you are seeing, or something else?

are your esc's calibrated to the radio? Also is your rear esc set to instant reverse?

I did calibrate them, but come to think of it, I think they were both calibrated on channel 2 when I was testing.

I do have the same exact program on them (used my Castle Link to upload the same program to each). I have the Sidewinder set to crawler reverse and drag brake of 213%.

I'll just calibrate them both again in the morning and see how it goes.
