There isn't anything I could get produced quickly for that application, but I could recommend this motor or similar http://www.innov8tivedesigns.com/pro...bc4f4dc8a142fd

They have longer and shorter versions available too, depending on the wattage and frame you may need to fit.

Hi,
Im about to place an order for 2x Tekin FXR's and 2 TorqueMaster Pro HandWounds for an XR-10 (front steer only)

Not being very good with electronics or wiring, is there anything else i need so i can hook this all up?
Do i need any extra wiring, Y harnesses, deans plugs etc?

Will i need a Y harness if i use Punk Dig (till i upgrade radio's to something like a 4pK).
Will i be able to run dual ESC's with a TQ3 with a modded 3 way switch?

Thanks.

You will need some deans plugs, and probably some extra wire depending on your setup needs. I am not familiar enough with the punk to know how best to wire it in.

A tq3 won't be able to mix channels, so a punk dig on the tq3 will be the better setup until you upgrade to a mixing radio.

Default Awe crap it finally gave up.

hey john, after 18 months of incredible service from your motors I broke one, It looks to have thrown a winding. I broke 3rd gear and fourth gear at LCQ and I guess it was just too much horsepower. Any way Should I send Both motors in for a overhaul? If so what is the process? Thanks for the awesome motors and your continued HONEST support of the crawling world.

If you want to get back two motors that are closely matching, send em both in and I will see what it takes to repair them. You may need a new armature on the broken motor.

Hey john, I am having an issue with your 540 torquemaster pro's, 35T

I had one a while ago that I killed the comm on, it developed flat spots between the "comm sections" and eventually just died. I chalked it up to me probably setting the timing wrong. I bought another one recently, read how to adjust the timing properly again, set it to 7* and then broke the motor in a bit. I pulled it apart today and found that the flat spots are starting to come back, but not as severely yet.

You can see on the closest side of the comm that it is starting to get rough. Am I setting the timing wrong, or is there something else wrong?

What voltage are you running? Could just be running them hard. They do wear, being a brushed motor. Looks like you are due for a comm cut.

They have serrated brushes, so you really don't need to break them in. If you want to seat them proper, run them at 2.5v for about 10 minutes.

I am running 3s lipo, and that comm has 1.5 battery packs through it. I did get some dirt in the motor, so that might have done it. I'm just concerned that I am setting the timing wrong or something, I don't want to end up with flat spots in my comm again.

Thanks John,

the 11t cobalt 454 have 3300Kv that at 7.4V give "24420" rpm, you think that can support 3S battery? "36560" rpm with the 3S it is a little too much compared the "32630" that I have now whit the mongoose and I like the response with that speed, which is the correct "T" of your cobalt 454 to reach the same speed that I have now?

I hope you can understand my "maccheroni" english!!!

Ciao.

Just take care of that motor a bit more frequently than you think it should be done. Certainly, the maintenance is the downside of brushed motors.

I do not recommend the 11t 454 Puller to be used with 3s.

Waiting on Castle for those, they have been backordered for a few weeks now. Hopefully within a few weeks I would say.
