If I had one I'd try to make a motor plate adapter like for other cars and RCs. I've done it to use outrunners in bigger crawlers. Mount a plate that has the stock motors bolt pattern to the losi sized motor or big block. Then you bolt it to the trans as normal. The shafts on either motor should be long enough to set the pinion in far enough. I don't know that it would all fit together in this case, but it's worth a shot. From what I've read these heavy things could really use some big block power.

Hmmmm. This should fit the Lindberg 1:20 model bodies nicely.

Just got mine and it needs quite a bit of work to perform the way I expected. The steering knuckles need to be shaved off where the BTA steering tabs hit the lower shock mount to gain more steering, where the bearings seat in the knuckles is really sloppy causing some serious wheel wobble, and a more powerful motor install will be a must. Otherwise I really love the way it looks and it definitely has potential. Should be a fun project! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'd hesitate before doing any major surgery to the knuckles - see crawler will's post on p7 of this thread about dogbones... Sloppy bearing seats to add to the list of crimes, not good. This little truck has sooo much potential it's a shame it has so many issues.

To me the steering isn't as much an issue as the power. My wheels do have some play but it's not excessive. Might be some variation in manufacturing showing itself.

Cool, keep us updated. It does need to be geared down more for sure.

Thanks for the tip, Townsend. I was wondering why the front seemed to have less travel than the rear. Must be due to the offset mounting locations of the inner links to the frames.

| Re: RC4WDs New Micro Crawler Once I relocated the links, it looked like the link from the servo horn to the knuckle was limiting the front a bit. Maybe a bent link would help.

Moving the links got the front end to really free up. It felt like it was springing against the links, so it was unable to take advantage of the extra 3mm in shock length I got by ditching the white guides. The rear felt like the shocks were able to use the full stroke, so I left the rear links where they were for now. Some longer shocks would definitely require relocating the links there too. With some longer shocks we should be able to get some pretty extreme travel, but I'm pretty happy with it as it sits right now. Just need to get it slowed down and get some climbing torque now | |
