any more info on this??

i just bought losi alloy Chubs and swivel hubs, and CVD shafts for my HSP truck, not because ive broken anything, more because im trying to rid the flexing of the front end, and make it overall stronger.

wondering if im best to trim the axle housing down on the EMS housing to suit the LMC Chub, and then fit the bearing into the Chub rather than the axle??

or

will the axle be ok with just the wheel bearings supporting the outer section just like a 1:1 CV joint?

heres mine at the moment.

note, chassis is just interim at the moment until i get myself some alu to make new TVP chassis from using the current layout as a basis. new TVP will look like a big V shape...

body shot

flexxy

and a steering shot.

I just turned my Maxstone 16 into a Tracked Vehical! It's sweet, it turns on a dime, and soon, I'll put a plow on it a push some snow around; That is if we get any..

Makes for a good donor for scalers if you don't want to pay for a whole MRC just to rob the axles. I'd like to get another and hold on to it.

Could you post some pictures of your maxstone yota? I want to make my maxstone a scaler. Is that the tamiya or rc4wd body?

What up everyone ive read this forum about 3 times now... so far ewb's truck is the "look" that im going for lovin the 1.9 tsl's... at the same time im all about crawling and dont think i need to much faster of a motor maybe just a little bit more torque if anything(not trying to break to much...) I Love how much the truck articulates and I am not sure if I want to switch to a 4 link suspention. pretty sikk how the axles can get verticle
So far my maxstone16 is pretty much stock except for modding the wheels and tires.
siped the lugs
cut foams for a lower psi (back softer then front)
added 2.28oz weight to the front using a bicycle chain

With the few modifications thats been done I've noticed a world of difference in the "crawling level" With the added weight up front , larger foot print, and added grip on the tread im pretty happy with it.
Im thinking about cutting holes in the body to lower it about a cm or so. my ? is... would I be rubbing my tires on the body? and how is everyone getting away with the body so low with lil modification?

The 370 venom fireball or losi insane are bigger brushed motors. You could go with the ez run 18t brushless system(it can take lipo) if you trail more than crawl. Im pretty sure the stock esc can handle the bigger BRUSHED motors but youre still stuck with the nimh battery. Lipos are highly recomended. Im using a hitec 225 servo, works/fits great.

I never stop tinkering with mine. I suggest the gt3b or gt3c as a radio. There cheap and can be hacked to control 4ws and dual esc and 8 chs.

Any suggestions on motor upgrades? My son loves it but I think it might be alittle slow for him and I don't want him to loose interest.

mines on the backstep due to my wraith and 1/8nitro being focus atm, but heres my HSP Kulak /exceed / losi MRC

edit:

will probably end up running 1.5 rims, and cut n shut rovers. steering servo will attempt to mount next to the motor on the chassis. gonna be slightly different to the norm, but should be quite a balanced machine when done.

Put in a brushed 370 motor, like a fireball.

I'm running a Toro Brushless system in mine. It's fast.... it just doesn't crawl super smooth. It also breaks driveshafts at will.

1/18Th Toro Micro Brushless Motor Combo Set 25A ESC with 4450KV;2 poles

Oh and I'm running a full moded GT3B and I love it! Great price and all the features.

Is anyone else breaking driveshafts and if so have you found an upgrade?
