Hey John, I notice you have most replacement parts for your pro Torquemaster 540 motors except armatures. Are these available, or does it end up being around the same price to buy a new motor? Thanks! |

Hey. I have a losi mini rock crawler. I bought some flatirons for it not knowing how big they where. So then i bought a wide ride kit for it which adds a total of two more inches of width in the front. And the stock servo was to week to turn it and my hitec hs 5645mg servo is to strong. Would a HS-5065MG High Torque Metal Gear Feather Servo work? What do you think would work?

I am not familiar enough with that servo. Personally, I would run something with a lot more power, I have a full size servo on my mini. Just make sure your endpoints are correct, there is no such thing as too strong.

Hey john, I must have had the timing set improperly because it ate up the brushes and let flat spots in the comm. Brought it back to life a little bit, and it was definitely the motor and not the esc. Anyways, me and a buddy are arguing, does the arming noise come from the motor or the esc? |

The ESC drives the motor to make the noise, the Motor actually makes the noise like a speaker.

Can you explain how the motor makes the noise, I have always wondered.

Just like a speaker, but with no cone. The winds make a magnetic field that is PWM by the controller. The winds and armature have the magnets to pull on, thus you get vibrations. Depending on the frequency of PWM, that is the frequency of vibration and sound that comes out of the motor.

I am sure this was somewhere in the 101 pages on this thread. Count me in as one of the lazy ones who doesn't want to read everyone for my answer. With that pre-apology here is my question. Can I get replacement rotors for the Pro Handwound Torquemaster 45T motor? Mine either took out my ESC or was taken out by my ESC the other day. Second, does it even make sense to rebuild the motor if the rotor is shot? Thanks, Wes |

My site can actually quote for you, and is more accurate than I. The BEC price is about $22, and priority shipping to you should be around $13. Go put one into the cart on my site and enter your details for the exact price, you will need to purchase it direct through there anyway.

I don't want to clog up your thread with stupid questions, but I think this might give others a heads up too. I built a trailer to tow behind my crawler, so it's probably reasonable to assume the motor might get a little warm with the extra weight. I bought a $6 fan and rigged it up pointed straight at the motor, is this a sufficient way to cool the motor? I don't want to gear down and loose my wheelspeed when I am not towing the trailer around. |
